Thanks to a bequest from MRTA Past President Jane Ritter, the MEA- Retired will award grants of up to $300 each to affiliate units. Each Grant must be designed by affiliate units to provide special projects with a focus on making a difference for members with special needs (ex. programs to provide transportation, socialization or visitation etc.).
Applications will be reviewed and funding decisions will be made by the MEA-Retired Legacy Committee.
Grant money may not be used to pay for routine association business.

All grants must be postmarked by February 1, 2021.

The Ritter Award is given up to 10 counties each year. Each county organization must complete and submit an application form if they want to apply for the Ritter funds. Jane Ritter was an active member of MEA-Retired and served on several committees. In her will she left a percentage of her assets to MEA-Retired to use to help those listed above. Her will also left paintings which were not sold all at once, so money will continue to come in from time-to-time.
